Everything: problem, design, build, listing, and launch
You know the places. Itero works out the days: the order, the travel between stops, what moves if it rains, and beautiful sheets to share with your visitors.
You want to show your guests a great time.
Itero helps to organize the perfect trip.
Whenever I host someone, there are so many places I’d love to take them that I get paralyzed by the options: which to choose, which day, what time, and how much time to leave for travel in between.
The list comes first: paste a Maps link or type a name.Hosting, then my own trips.
Itero began as a planner for people visiting me. Five days in, it grew to cover my own trips too: a pass is either Hosting or My trip. A trip carries its destination, and everything follows it, from search to the forecast to the places it offers, so a Miami trip never suggests a Chicago restaurant.
Leaving Google out.
Google Places would have given every place photos and opening hours, but only with Google’s logo on the screen, and it ruined the look of the app. I turned it down. Itero has no hours, so it never claims any, and its photos come from the venue’s own site, Wikipedia, or me, with any credit tucked behind a small “i”.
The App Store turned the iPad away.
Itero’s iPad layout only worked sideways, and the day before I submitted, Apple’s validation refused the build: iPad apps have to work every way up. Instead of stretching the sideways layout, the iPad got an upright one of its own that same day, with the sidebar folding into a rail of ticket stubs. Itero went in for review the next day.
One plan, many ways to hand it over.

Open it, and the pass prints.
Itero is made to utilize the iPhone Duo to its fullest! The pass spreads across both pages: the plan on one side, the day’s stops stamping onto the map on the other. The bottom tabs move to the side and dynamically shrink when needed.
